Do no harm to others

nor to yourself.

Phi Epsilon Mu (FEM), a chapter of Tri Ess (Society for the Second Self), a non-sexual support group for crossdressers, transgender, and the gender community in Central Florida. This page defines who we are and who we are not. It welcomes crossdressers and their wives and partners to our meetings and provides information about gender community resources and things to do in our region.

While estimates differ, some experts have estimated that there are eight million men in the U.S. alone who feel the need to wear the clothing of the other gender and to express what psychologist Carl Jung has called their anima, or the "feminine side" of their personality. Cross dressing is a phenomenon that has been found throughout history in all cultures. It exists worldwide today.

What do crossdressers do with themselves? Well, sooner or later, they take a vacation to Florida and call Phi Epsilon Mu to see if they can find some crossdressing opportunities and resources here! We thought it would make life easier for all eight million of us (and those others in Canada who drop by from time to time) if we created this home page to help them all out!

If you are a full-time or seasonal resident of Florida and would like to join our chapter, we welcome you. Vacationers who want to come to a meeting while in Florida are invited to call for an introduction. Of course, if you are a crossdresser or member of the gender community by any name (or the spouse or partner of a crossdresser) and you need advice or support, we are here to help. Our phone number is posted inside so you can get in touch. You are not alone. You are not mentally ill or a pervert. Strange, maybe, but otherwise quite normal. Relax! Enjoy! Welcome! And please note that while we are available for wives and partners, have an active wives and partner support program, and hope that your wife or partner will choose to participate, we are not just a group for crossdressers and their wives and partners. Come join our group even if you choose to not participate with a wife or partner.

Phi Epsilon Mu and You

Phi Epsilon Mu, also known as the Central Florida Sisters, or FEM for short, is the Central Florida chapter of Tri Ess. We have a FAQ Sheet available for anyone who wants to learn more about us or subscribe to our monthly newsletter. Our members come from all over Florida and enjoy a close association with cross dresser and gender groups other parts of Florida. Since these chapters are always in transition, if you need information on chapters in other areas, email and we will try to help.

Our meetings are primarily social but we have a very active wives and partners group. Before dinner, we socialize, eat snacks, and hold a voluntary discussion group. Dinner is served buffet style about 7:00 PM and afterward a short business meeting is held. The crossdressers and the wives/partners break up into separate groups after dinner so they can discuss unique problems or provide support to those who might need it. The real fun begins after the meeting when small groups of crossdressers who want to be more adventuresome change into their best evening wear and visit one of the several bars and clubs in the area that welcome us.

Of course, our meetings are not limited to the Saturday night affair. We host a group of regulars who go to dinner as part of the "Elegant Ladies Out On The Town" group on the Friday night before the monthly meeting. Dinner and drinks are enjoyed as a group in a local gender-friendly restaurant.

Saturday is shopping day for those who wish to visit local malls and stores. A list of gender friendly stores, bars, clubs, restaurants and other resources in Central Florida guide our members in finding places to go and things to do.

Sunday morning following the meeting will almost always find members en femme and en drab at the local dinners for breakfast.

We have a great group. While the attendance varies with the season due to so many seasonal Floridians and winter visitors, we always have a good-sized group and a great meeting weekend. If you want more information on visiting us during one of your vacations to Florida, you should contact us well in advance of your trip for a security interview and a copy of our rules of decorum. Every Florida and south Georgia cross dresser or gender gifted person should visit or join our group. We have members from all over Florida, as far away as the Keys, who travel to Orlando to meet with us monthly!

We have an active outreach program to help assure that no cross dresser suffers alone in his closet thinking, he is not the only person who feels the strong need to express his full personality. To help newcomers just finding our home page to understand who they are and that they are not alone, we offer many links to other wonderful gender sites and resources. Explore! And come on down to Florida!
